Iron-painted Buncheong Moon Jar

This moon jar reinterprets Korea’s timeless ceramic heritage through the iron-painted Buncheong technique —

a traditional method where white slip is brushed over natural clay and then hand-painted with iron-oxide designs before firing.

Originating from 15th-century Korea, Buncheong ware is known for its spontaneous brushwork and natural, unrefined beauty — a celebration of imperfection that feels both ancient and modern.

The iron-painted patterns add warmth and character, creating a surface that reflects the maker’s hand and spirit.

Each jar captures a quiet balance between form and freedom, inviting calmness into any space.

Each piece is individually handmade; variations in tone, texture, and brushwork are part of its unique character.
